1. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly, information generated by using the service, and a small amount of information automatically:

• Account information: name, email address, password (hashed), and billing details processed by Stripe (we never see or store full card numbers).
• Content you upload: source videos, audio, and any files you submit for processing, along with the clips, captions, and metadata Reelgenics generates from them.
• Usage and log data: pages viewed, features used, timestamps, and general device and browser information, collected to keep the service secure and to understand how it's used.
• Cookies and similar technologies, as described in our Cookie Policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve Reelgenics: transcribing and clipping your videos, generating captions and virality scores, processing subscription payments, communicating with you about your account, monitoring for fraud or abuse, developing new features, and complying with our legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:

• With service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, such as cloud hosting, Stripe for payments, and analytics providers.
• With other members of your team workspace, according to the permissions you or your admin set.
• With law enforcement or regulators when required by valid legal process.
• As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply to your information.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period afterward as needed to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and meet legal or accounting obligations. You can request deletion of your account and content at any time, as described in Section 7.

5. Data Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews of our systems and dependencies. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to reduce risk. See our Security page for more detail.

6. International Data Transfers

Reelgenics operates globally, so your information may be processed in a country other than where you live. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use recognized safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to keep it protected consistent with this policy.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage most of this directly from account settings, or contact privacy@reelgenics.com to make a request; we'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

Reelgenics is intended for users 18 and older and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@reelgenics.com and we'll delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law changes. We'll post the revised policy here and update the "Last updated" date, and we'll notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice.
